Reflections sown in the specialization in Portuguese Language Literature at the Federal University of the State of São Paulo culminated in the following research object: How to effectively approach African literature in the classroom considering the African universe, its richness and peculiarities? The general objective is to propose an efficient teaching-learning practice for the insertion of African literatures and the specific ones include analyzing the didactic material and official documents that guide the theme, verifying existing studies and suggesting works for the didactic material. The research has a qualitative-quantitative character, the results contribute to the improvement of literature teaching.
